Department Introduction

The English Department established at the very inception of the college in 1953 has been the hub of excellence through innovation. The former Principals, the dynamic Sr. Josephine, a visionary and Sr. Winifred, the architect of autonomy belonged to the English Department. One of the stalwarts, Mr. Kondamudi  Sri Rama Murthy was an eminent writer who won the state Nandi Award. The former Faculty Mrs. Julia Samuel, Mrs. Pannagi, Mrs. Margaret, Mrs. Tara, Sr. Adelphine, Dr. Aleyamma Mathew  Mrs. Rohini Parvathi, Dr.Mrs. V.Rajini, Mrs. Pamela Thomas laid strong foundation to the department. The department with its dynamic faculty has trained students in acquisition of global skills based on the sound bedrock of value orientation and women empowerment   and strives relentlessly towards holistic development of the learners. The Department is currently headed by Dr R.Madhavi who runs the department efficaciously with her band of dedicated faculty, Mrs Mary Kambam, Dr. D. Fathima Rani, Ms. Beaula Swarupa, Ms. B.Indira, Ms Mani Bhagya Sri, and Ms Sk Rafia. The motto of the Department is Innovation, Excellence and Skill orientation.
